Principals Message

Thank you for taking an interest in our school, a co-educational composite school catering for Years 1 to 15 students in Turangi.

The school was established in 2004 as the result of a Ministry of Education review.  In a short time it has moved forward to build a reputation for catering for the needs of all students at all levels. We have been presented with a unique opportunity to build a school from the very beginning but with the challenges of upgrading the property to meet the educational needs of today.

As our vision suggests we aim for high standards of academic performance, involvement in a wide variety of activities and an atmosphere that is safe, friendly and respectful.  Students are encouraged to develop as self motivated, mature young people who are being prepared to contribute to society as respectful and caring citizens.

This aim is enhanced by the nature of a composite school where students can move through the seamless environment assisted by dedicated and professional staff.  Knowledge of children’s achievements and development remains with the children throughout their school years and is not lost or broken as may be the case when they move from one school to another.

Further, we focus on establishing a partnership between the student and family and the teachers to ensure effective learning takes place.  We invite you to become part of this partnership and to assist us to ensure that each child’s potential is achieved and to ensure expectations are high.  Further we invite you to join with our students in pursuing the wider aspects of school life and to share in the ongoing development of a new and exciting educational opportunity in Turangi.
